The President of Seychelles has appointed Mrs. Estelle Alexis as the Chief Executive Officer of the Public Enterprise Monitoring Commission (PEMC), starting on September 1, 2026. This decision follows the rules set by the Public Enterprise Monitoring Commission Act of 2023, where the President chooses the CEO based on recommendations from the Commission and discussions with the Minister. Mrs. Alexis is well-qualified for this role, with a strong background in law and public administration. She has a Master's Degree in Maritime Transport Law, another Master's in Business Law, and a Bachelor of Laws, all from the University of Aix-Marseille in France. She has also received training in corporate governance and leadership. Throughout her career, she has held important legal and governance roles, such as Legal Advisor for the Seychelles Ports Authority and the Ministry of Transport. She is also involved in various national boards and committees, which gives her valuable experience in managing public resources and improving governance. The President's office congratulated Mrs. Alexis and expressed confidence in her ability to lead the PEMC effectively, focusing on good governance and accountability in Seychelles' public enterprises.
