A building collapsed in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara state, early on Tuesday morning, and it is feared that eight people are trapped inside. The collapse happened around 5:30 a.m. in the PopoGiwa area. Eyewitnesses say that among those trapped are nursing mothers and children. Rescue teams, including the state fire service, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and local residents, are currently working to save those trapped. Officials from the State Emergency Management Agency are also at the site to assist with the rescue efforts. Attempts to get comments from officials and the police about the situation were unsuccessful.
