The Abia State Government has clarified that it has no plans to ban the operations of commercial tricycles, known as Keke, in the state. Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, made this known while briefing journalists after the State Executive Council meeting chaired by Governor Alex Otti. He stated that the government would not be stampeded into banning Keke operations without a compelling need. Instead, the government aims to streamline the operations of commercial vehicles and tricycles to ensure a more sanitary and efficient transport system and reduce congestion in major city centres.
