Alia pointed out that understanding the root causes of insecurity is crucial for achieving peace. He believes that the region has great economic potential but cannot thrive without security. He mentioned that the Federal Government is increasing military presence in areas that have faced repeated attacks, including establishing a new military division to help protect communities. Additionally, he discussed the ongoing debate about whether the violence against certain groups in northern Nigeria should be labeled as genocide, noting that while many agree the scale of killings is serious, opinions vary on whether it specifically targets Christians.
