In the upcoming 2027 elections for the Ekiti State House of Assembly, several political parties are preparing to compete for 26 seats. The two main parties, the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), along with ten other parties, have nominated a total of 174 candidates. According to a document from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), both the APC and ADC are running candidates in all 26 areas. Other parties like the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), National Democratic Congress (NDC), and Social Democratic Party (SDP) are also contesting in every constituency. Some parties have fewer candidates: the Action Peoples Movement (APM) has 19 candidates, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has 8, and the Labour Party (LP) is fielding 5. Other parties like Action Alliance (AA), Action Democratic Party (ADP), Young Progressives Party (YPP), and Accord have 4, 3, 3, and 2 candidates, respectively. Overall, it looks like a competitive election ahead in Ekiti!
