Gunmen abducted the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman of Rogo Local Government Area in Kano State, Alhaji Abdullahi Fanka, on Monday night. The attackers stormed Beli town, the chairman's hometown, around 10:00pm, firing shots before taking him away. A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said attempts by locals to resist the gunmen failed, and one Almajiri was shot but is alive and receiving treatment. The attackers fled towards Babbarika village, abandoning three motorcycles, and a Fulani man was later apprehended in Rogo town after being seen asking questions about the abandoned motorcycles.
