The Zamfara State Government has declared that appointments of school principals and other education administrators will now be based on merit and professional qualifications. Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Abdulmalik Gajam, made this known at the closing ceremony of the Global Standard Teacher Transformation Programme in Gusau. He said the government is determined to promote professionalism, merit, accountability and continuous capacity development in the education sector. Gajam added that candidates will no longer need to approach politicians or government officials to secure appointments.
