Residents of Dutsen-safe in Katsina State are asking their governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, to fix the badly damaged Dutsen-safe-Yarkutungu road. This road is important because it connects their community to the busy Yarkutungu market. Over the years, the road has become very difficult to use, especially during the rainy season, making it hard for people to travel and for businesses to operate. Local residents have expressed that the poor condition of the road is dangerous. They say it has caused accidents and has made their lives harder, as well as increased security risks, especially at night when criminals take advantage of the situation. One resident, Babangida Abba, mentioned that despite asking for help many times, the road has not been repaired. Another resident, Fatima Khalid, who sells goods at the market, highlighted how the flooding makes the road nearly impossible to use during rains, leading to safety issues. Other community members also shared similar concerns about how the road affects their ability to transport goods and the financial losses they face due to vehicle damage from the road's condition. While the residents are hopeful that Governor Radda will listen to their plea and include the road in his urban renewal projects, attempts to get a response from the local government about their concerns have not been successful.
