Mykhailo Fedorov, who was Ukraine's defense minister until this summer, is starting a new defense technology company. This company will focus on using lessons learned from Ukraine's experiences in the war to create new defense technologies. Alex Karp, the CEO of Palantir, a company that specializes in AI and data, will be the first major investor in this new venture. Fedorov had previously been known for his innovative work with technology in the military, especially with drones, which helped Ukraine in its fight against Russia. However, he was removed from his position after just six months, which surprised many in Ukraine. His removal was linked to disagreements with senior military leaders about how to implement changes in the armed forces. Despite his departure, Fedorov is optimistic about his new company and believes that the experience he and his team gained during the war will help them develop important technologies for Ukraine and its allies.
