The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced that FIFA, the international governing body for football, has accepted the resignations of its president, Ibrahim Gusau, and General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, along with other executive committee members. This mass resignation happened due to ongoing issues with Nigeria's national football teams not performing well. Emmanuel Ikpeme has been appointed as the temporary general secretary of the NFF. There were concerns about possible penalties from FIFA, but the NFF clarified that a letter circulating in the media claiming to be from FIFA was fake. A Nigerian delegation met with FIFA representatives to discuss the situation, and they confirmed that FIFA is working with the NFF to implement necessary reforms in Nigerian football. The NFF stated that they are committed to following the proper rules and procedures as they move forward with these changes.
