Sunbeth Global Concepts (SGC), a major agricultural exporter in Nigeria, has made history by releasing its first Sustainability Report for 2025. This makes them the first agricultural company in Nigeria to voluntarily follow international sustainability reporting standards known as IFRS S1 and S2. These standards help companies share important information about their sustainability efforts and any risks they face related to the environment and society. The launch event brought together important partners to discuss the report and Sunbeth's commitment to sustainability. The report, titled "Responsible Sourcing, Pioneering Action," highlights the company's achievements in ethical sourcing, helping communities, and ensuring product traceability over the past year. Sunbeth aims to provide the same detailed sustainability information that big global companies offer, showing their dedication to competing internationally. Olasunkanmi Owoyemi, the Managing Director, emphasized that responsible sourcing is a core part of their business strategy. He mentioned that investing in these sustainability practices is essential for the company's future and for supporting the many farmers who rely on their business. The adoption of these international standards means Sunbeth will incorporate sustainability into their business decisions and show how these practices can lead to financial success. Oyinkansola Owoyemi, the Sustainability Director, noted that this approach highlights the importance of being accountable in a sector that affects both the environment and local communities.
