Nigeria is getting ready to host the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT), a women's golf tournament, in Abuja. The event will take place from November 2 to 7, 2026, at the IBB International Golf and Country Club. Dr. Lami Onayi Ahmed, who leads the organizing committee, announced that preparations are well underway and that they are now focusing on the final details. More than 30 African countries are expected to participate, and the organizing team is working on important aspects like security, transportation, accommodation, and media coverage. Dr. Ahmed emphasized that ensuring safety for everyone involved is a top priority. The AACT will be followed by the Nigerian Ladies Open Championship just a few days later, from November 7 to 10, 2026. There are also plans for a Business and Investment Summit and a special program to encourage young girls to take up golf. Dr. Ahmed believes this tournament will not only showcase Nigeria's hospitality and culture but also help grow women's golf across Africa. She expressed excitement about welcoming visitors to Abuja for this significant event.
