Wellington Clinics in Abuja has denied any involvement in illegal organ harvesting related to a kidney donor named Mr. Abubakar Hassan. The Nigerian Police are investigating the situation after allegations surfaced about unethical practices in organ transplants. The hospital claims that the kidney transplant was performed legally under the supervision of a qualified doctor. They stated that the real name of the donor is Mr. Samuel Ezekiel, who allegedly changed his name to hide his identity. Wellington Clinics insists they followed all legal and ethical guidelines during the procedure. According to the hospital, they had no reason to suspect any wrongdoing because they relied on the documents presented by the donor and his medical team. They also noted that the donor was treated as a consenting adult and that they were not involved in any financial transactions regarding the organ. The kidney was successfully transplanted into a patient with severe kidney failure, and both the donor and recipient are reported to be fine after the operation. However, following the allegations, the hospital has paused all kidney transplant services until the investigation is complete and has promised to cooperate fully with the authorities.
