The Nigerian government is starting a special program to help Nigerians living in the UK get their passports more easily. This program is led by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and aims to fix long delays in passport services. A team will travel to four key areas in the UK to assist with passport applications and renewals directly where people live. The service will begin in London and Manchester from September 7 to September 19. In London, people can go to Layali Lounge, and in Manchester, they can visit Nigerian House. After that, the team will move to Scotland and Wales from September 21 to September 26, with locations in Aberdeen and Cardiff. To use this service, applicants must first register and pay online before visiting the centers. They cannot pay with cash or show up without an appointment. This initiative is part of a larger effort to improve how passports are issued and to reduce waiting times for Nigerians living abroad.
