A group within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, has decided to support a plan called the G-100. This plan aims to unite various opposition parties to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming presidential election in 2027. The PDP faction believes that it is important to collaborate with other political groups to address the issues facing Nigeria, especially under the current government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They held a meeting on August 31, 2026, to discuss presenting a single candidate from the opposition to run against Tinubu. The spokesperson for this PDP faction, Comrade Ini Ememobong, mentioned that their decision to join this effort is driven by the struggles that many Nigerians are experiencing, such as poverty and insecurity. They hope that by working together with other parties, they can provide better leadership and improve the situation in the country. The group emphasizes that their approach will focus on fairness and transparency to ensure effective leadership for all Nigerians.
