Raul Asencio, a 23-year-old defender for Real Madrid, has been found guilty of drink-driving in Gran Canaria. He was caught driving with a blood alcohol level more than three times above the legal limit. As a result, he has been fined 14,400 euros (about $16,700) and his driving license has been suspended for eight months. This conviction came from an incident on August 16, while Asencio was recovering from an injury and was not with his team. Additionally, Asencio is facing another court case related to sharing a sexual video without consent, which happened in 2023. Spanish media reports suggest that he believes he will be cleared if the two women involved forgive him. Three former Real Madrid reserve players are also involved in this case, which is set to be heard in court on September 3, 4, and 7.
