The police in Katsina State have arrested a man named Muhammad Aliyu for allegedly stealing and trying to sell 1,500 sachets of Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF), which is meant to help malnourished children. The police found the food packed in three sacks during a routine check on August 26, 2026. According to the police spokesperson, Aliyu confessed that he got the food from a clinic worker named Zaharaddini Musa, who is still missing. The RUTF is supposed to be given away for free at healthcare facilities to help treat children who are malnourished, and it should not be sold or misused. The police are now investigating the situation further and plan to charge Aliyu and anyone else involved once they finish their inquiry. They also urged the public to report any suspicious activities related to the misuse of health supplies.
