Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory minister, has accused the governors of Imo and Kwara states, Hope Uzodinma and Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, of working against him. He claims that they have not returned the political support he has given them in the past. Wike said that the Kwara governor is leading a campaign against him and that he has confronted him about it. Wike mentioned that the Kwara governor has accused him of supporting candidates who are not his favorites. He believes the governor should appreciate him for helping some politicians who left the ruling party to join his party instead of joining a rival coalition. He also noted that his relationship with the Imo governor is strained, as that governor has previously refused to support him. Despite these issues, Wike says his main focus is on supporting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and he won’t let personal conflicts distract him. He challenged anyone who claims he is against the interests of the ruling party to clarify what support they have given him in his political struggles.
