Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, has accused two governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC)—Hope Uzodinma of Imo State and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State—of working against him. He made these claims during a media chat in Port Harcourt, where he also stated that he is not trying to undermine APC governors. Wike, who is still part of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is supporting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election as the 2027 elections approach. His relationship with some APC governors has raised eyebrows due to the changing political landscape. Wike specifically criticized AbdulRazaq, claiming he has been leading a campaign against him and accusing Wike of backing politicians who oppose AbdulRazaq's preferred candidates. Wike responded by saying that he has actually helped disgruntled APC members find a place within the PDP. In Kwara, there is a lot of political maneuvering as AbdulRazaq faces challenges from within his party regarding who will succeed him in the next election. Different groups within the APC are endorsing various candidates for the governorship. Wike’s comments about Uzodinma were less detailed, but he mentioned that Uzodinma has not always supported him, despite their past interactions. Wike remains committed to helping Tinubu win another term, regardless of any personal political disputes. He emphasized that his political intentions have always been clear to the public.
