The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, a group representing the Fulani pastoralist community, has asked President Bola Tinubu to help with the situation of their leader, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello-Bodejo, who is still in detention. This request was made by Alhaji Idris Gidado-Bebeji, the group's chairman in the North Central region, during a press conference. Bodejo's detention has worried his family, friends, and community members. He is seen as an important figure who promotes peace and unity among pastoralists. The group acknowledges that security agencies have their duties but wants Bodejo’s case to be handled fairly and quickly according to the law. Bodejo was reportedly arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) on the day he announced his intention to run for a political position. After spending nearly four months in detention with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), he was released but was arrested again by the DSS on August 28, 2026. Gidado-Bebeji emphasized that if there is a legal reason for Bodejo's continued detention, it should be followed properly, but if not, he should be released to his family. He also mentioned that Bodejo is a supporter of the ruling party and praised the government for its efforts to support pastoralist communities. The group is seeking justice and fair treatment for Bodejo, asking various authorities, including the international community, to ensure the matter is resolved justly. They urged their members to stay calm and pursue peaceful dialogue with the government.
