DHL and Absa Group have teamed up to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in Africa trade globally. They signed an agreement to expand DHL's GoTrade program, which provides support for businesses looking to grow through international trade and e-commerce. This partnership combines DHL's shipping and logistics skills with Absa's banking and financial services. Together, they aim to give SMEs the tools, training, and access they need to succeed in cross-border trade. The Deputy Minister of Trade, Zuko Godlimpi, emphasized that this collaboration will help local businesses grow and create jobs, boosting the economy in South Africa and beyond. The GoTrade program has already helped around 1,600 SMEs in Uganda, with plans to expand to other countries like Kenya, Botswana, Zambia, Mozambique, and Tanzania. Both companies believe that supporting SMEs is crucial for Africa's economic future, as they play a vital role in job creation and community strength.
