Nigerian Army troops successfully rescued Mrs. Adonkie, the wife of retired Brigadier General Basil Adonkie, just hours after she was kidnapped from her home in Abuja. The kidnapping occurred around 10:30 PM on September 1, and troops quickly began searching for the kidnappers. The soldiers pursued the kidnappers through nearby areas and managed to rescue Mrs. Adonkie near Angwan-Sabo Village. During the operation, they also intercepted two suspects who were trying to escape and found an AK-47 rifle with ammunition in their possession. Mrs. Adonkie has been safely returned to her family, and the two suspects are now in custody while authorities continue to investigate and search for other members of the kidnapping group. The troops are maintaining high morale and are actively working to track down any remaining criminals in the area.
