The Zamfara State Police Command has reported that 600 bandits were killed and 2,000 hostages rescued in 45 major anti-banditry operations over the past year. Additionally, over 3,500 cattle and 277 sheep were recovered and returned to their owners. The command also stated that more than 30,000 internally displaced persons have returned to their communities. This response was issued to counter a report by SBM Intelligence that claimed only four anti-kidnapping operations were conducted in the state during the same period.
