The Hydrocarbon Pollution Rehabilitation Project (HYPREP) announced that women's participation in the Ogoni cleanup has risen from five percent in 2023 to 45 percent. Project Coordinator Prof. Nenibarini Zabbey disclosed this during a quarterly meeting in Port Harcourt. He stated that the project is being implemented through a human-centred and multi-stakeholder approach. The initiative aims to ensure lasting benefits for the people and ecosystem of Ogoniland.
