Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, was sworn in as the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association on August 28, becoming the first woman elected to the position. She is the second woman to lead the NBA since its formation in 1933, following Dame Priscilla Kuye who served from 1991 to 1992. Badejo-Okusanya's emergence occurred in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, amidst an alleged state-sponsored internal crisis that nearly led to the NBA's proscription by the military government at the time.
