4.85m customers still unmetered

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission reported that Electricity Distribution Companies delivered about 308,106 meters to customers between May and June 2026. Total active customers rose by 0.55 percent to 12.59 million in June, while metered customers stood at 7,743,839, leaving approximately 4.85 million customers unmetered. The regulator noted continued progress in metering as DisCos work to close the gap and reduce estimated billing. Eko Disco recorded the highest metering rate at 88.70 percent, followed by Ikeja Electric.
