A vacation judge at the Ogun State High Court in Ijebu-Ode, Justice A. A. Omoniyi, has returned the case file of a suit challenging the stoppage of the selection process for the next Awujale to the administrative judge for reassignment. The suit, marked HCJ/149/2026, was filed in August by the Fusengbuwa Ruling House against Governor Dapo Abiodun, nine kingmakers, and others. The plaintiffs seek orders to compel the completion of the selection process for the next Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland. The ruling house officials, including chairman Owoyemi, deputy chairman Otunba Adedokun Ajidagba, and vice chairman Prof. Chief Fassy Yusuf, are leading the legal action.
