Ghana's Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has initiated consultations with key ministries, including the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, as part of preparations for the government's New Economy transformational programme. The programme aims to move Ghana beyond economic stabilisation towards job creation, wealth generation, and sustainable growth. During a presentation of the 2026 Mid-Year Fiscal Policy Review, Dr. Forson emphasized that stabilisation was only the entry point, and the upcoming agenda will focus on building an economy that creates jobs and generates wealth based on domestic production. The consultations are intended to align ministerial efforts for the programme's implementation.
