The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has strongly condemned an aerial attack on two of its trucks carrying food assistance outside Dilling, South Kordofan, on 30 August 2026. The trucks, clearly marked with WFP banners, were destined for Kadugli and were destroyed, losing over 50 metric tons of food, enough to feed 5,800 people for a month. WFP is supporting nearly 58,000 people in Kadugli facing emergency food insecurity. The attack is one of eight aerial attacks on WFP premises since January, and the agency urges all parties to respect international humanitarian law.
