Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has cautioned politicians against heating up the polity ahead of the 2027 general elections, stating that no political office is worth the life of any Nigerian. He spoke at the 7th Annual Lecture of Freedom Online Newspapers, where he also defended the removal of fuel subsidy as necessary to save Nigeria's economy. The governor predicted that opposition parties would make subsidy removal a major campaign issue.
