The Federal High Court in Abuja has directed the Inspector-General of Police and the Attorney-General of the Federation to allow detained self-styled Director-General of the alleged non-existent Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, access to his lawyers. However, the court declined to order his release from custody pending investigation. Justice Obiora Egwuatu ruled that Adeyemi must serve copies of his fundamental rights enforcement suit on the police and AGF. The court also ordered the respondents to show cause within 72 hours why the reliefs sought should not be granted.
