Osun poll: Tinubu has proved ruling party can lose, says Sanwo-Olu

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has stated that the outcome of the August 15 Osun governorship election demonstrates that the ruling party can lose an election under President Bola Tinubu without undermining democratic processes. He made the remarks on Thursday in Lagos during discussions on Nigeria's democracy and preparations for the 2027 elections. Sanwo-Olu cited the victory of incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke, who defeated Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) by over 60,000 votes. President Tinubu congratulated Adeleke and later met with him at the Presidential Villa, urging unity in the state.
