A former councillor in Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State, Daniel Ujah, has been remanded in the Otukpo Correctional Centre over alleged assault and torture of a woman by pushing her into fire. Ujah, 43, was arraigned before the Upper Area Court 2, Otukpo, on charges including criminal trespass, intimidation, criminal force, assault causing grievous hurt, and attempting to commit culpable homicide. According to the First Information Report, the incident occurred on August 28, 2026, when Ujah allegedly trespassed into the compound of Amina Iduh at Akwutolo Awume village and subjected her to severe beating before pushing her into a fire.
