The Emir of Gumel in Jigawa State, Alhaji Dr Ahmed Muhammad Sani II, has died in Cairo, Egypt. His death was announced by former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, in a condolence message on Thursday. The monarch reigned for nearly 46 years, ascending the throne on December 16, 1980. Pantami described him as a distinguished scholar and a father to all, noting his dedication to service, peace, education, and cultural preservation.
