At least 37 suspected oil thieves died from inhaling toxic substances while loading stolen crude oil at Okari Jetty in Okirika Local Government Area, Rivers State. The incident occurred early Thursday morning when over 200 youths from neighboring communities attempted to load from an illegally tapped point. Community sources reported that many others are still missing. The incident has devastated the local government area.
