The Emir of Gumel, Alhaji Dr Ahmed Muhammad Sani II, has died after reigning for 46 years. According to an official statement, the traditional ruler passed away on Thursday afternoon at a hospital in Egypt. His death was announced by former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof Isa Ali Pantami. The late emir ascended the throne on December 16, 1980, and was known for his dedication to peace, education, and cultural preservation.
