Rabiu Kwankwaso, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has cautioned political parties against assuming that the number of governors they control will guarantee victory in the 2027 general election. Speaking at an NDC Town Hall Meeting in Rivers State, Kwankwaso, a former Kano State governor, argued that many governors, especially in the North, have performed poorly and may struggle to campaign effectively. He cited past elections where incumbent governments were defeated despite controlling many states. Kwankwaso urged parties not to rely solely on gubernatorial support for electoral success.
