Lawyer Inspector Cynthia Stephen, deployed under the Nigerian Police Force Contingent-13 in Somalia in June 2025, has transitioned from a static patrol guard role to a trainer at the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) Police Headquarters. Her work focuses on curriculum drafts and lesson plans to strengthen the Somali Police Force (SPF), in collaboration with SPF training teams and leadership at the General Kahiye Police Academy. She emphasized that the curriculum is not externally imposed but developed with SPF priorities. Her role is part of the mission's capacity-building mandate.
