Ministers and representatives from eight African countries, including Nigeria, Uganda, Niger, Mali, Malawi, Rwanda, and Ethiopia, convened at the Second Ministerial Deep Dive on Livestock during the Africa Food Systems Forum 2026. The meeting, hosted by AGRA and organized by the African Union Inter-African Bureau for Animal Resources (AU-IBAR) and the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), focused on scaling regional value chains through partnership and investment. Participants agreed to strengthen livestock value chains, unlock investment, and expand trade across the continent. The session followed an earlier ministerial meeting in Dakar in 2025 where similar commitments were made.
