The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has alerted the public to attempts by international drug cartels, including Mexican-linked networks, to establish industrial-scale methamphetamine laboratories in forests in Ogun and Oyo states. The agency also reported dismantling a drug cartel operating along the Togo-Benin Republic-Nigeria corridor and intercepting cocaine, methamphetamine, and cannabis shipments in Akwa Ibom State. NDLEA's Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, disclosed these developments during an interview on a current affairs programme. He emphasized that the agency is actively confronting the cartels to prevent the penetration of Nigeria's illicit drug market.
