A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Inspector-General of Police and the Attorney-General of the Federation to grant Adeniyi Adeyemi, the purported Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), access to his lawyers. The court declined to grant Adeyemi's requests for release, bail, and medical treatment without hearing from the respondents. Justice Obiora Egwuatu adjourned the case until September 9 for the respondents to show cause. Adeyemi was arrested in Osun state in July after a bench warrant was issued for his failure to appear for arraignment on an eight-count charge.
