The Federal Government has unveiled Nigeria's first National Land Transport Policy, describing it as a major step towards building an integrated, efficient, safe, affordable and sustainable transportation system. Vice-President Kashim Shettima, while unveiling the policy in Abuja at the 19th National Council on Transportation, said transportation is central to the nation's economy as it connects workers, families, businesses, markets and communities. He added that the government's transportation strategy is anchored on the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with a determination to provide infrastructure that supports a productive, competitive and interconnected economy.
