Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has blamed years of bad leadership for the decay of Nigeria's critical infrastructure, including its refineries. Speaking at an NDC town hall meeting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Obi argued that the country's refineries would function if there were competent and accountable leaders. He insisted that Nigeria's problems stem from leadership failure rather than a lack of resources. Obi also cited the decline of the country's institutions as evidence of this leadership crisis.
