The Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) has reported a revenue loss of over N300 billion due to suppressed and stranded generation capacity, and is also grappling with over N400 billion in unpaid liabilities from the Nigeria Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET), Distribution Companies, and other market players. Managing Director Jennifer Adighije disclosed this during an oversight visit by the House of Representatives Committee on Power. She noted that only 500MW of the 1,500MW available capacity is allocated. NDPHC has recovered $12 million from cross-border bilateral customers and is seeking regulatory intervention and lawmakers' help. The company also plans to invest in solar and mini-hydro projects for the North as part of the NIPP phase 2.
