Consumers pay N1.2trn for electricity in six months — NERC

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) reported that electricity consumers paid approximately N1.2 trillion for power consumed between January and June 2026. This amount was collected by the 11 electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) as detailed in NERC's monthly commercial performance reports. Monthly collections ranged from N191.68 billion in June to N208.15 billion in May, with June's figure showing a 7.9 percent decline from May. The data was disclosed in NERC's June 2026 factsheet.
