Minister of Finance Taiwo Oyedele has stated that Nigeria's biggest public finance challenge is budget implementation, not approval. Speaking at the PULSE 2026 Summit in Abuja, he emphasized that approved budgets must translate into tangible projects and services for citizens. Oyedele noted progress in budget preparation and open data but stressed the need to close the gap between approval and delivery. He said an approved budget is a promise whose value is measured by outcomes.
