The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, has called on Kogi State youths to urge their community leaders to stop shielding illegal miners. He made the appeal while addressing protesters from the Concerned Kogi Youths Against Environmental Degradation group. Alake noted that the government has identified 374 illegal mining sites and arrested 743 suspects, securing five convictions. He assured that technology and the Mining Marshal would be used to intensify the fight against illegal mining.
