Nissan has deployed autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) at its Smyrna, Tennessee plant to move heavy objects, with each capable of hauling up to 4,000 pounds. The robots can also call each other for backup when needed. The rollout will transition 64 forklift and tug operators to other roles within the plant. This initiative is part of Nissan's broader efforts to integrate AI into its manufacturing processes.
