The Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRESS) has launched a training programme in Sokoto State to de-escalate farmer-herder conflicts. The programme trained 110 key community actors, including traditional rulers, pastoralists, crop farmers, host communities, and government officials, on Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms. The state Project Coordinator, Mr. Surajo Abubakar, said the training aims to equip participants with practical tools for early warning, dialogue facilitation, mediation, and conciliation. This initiative is part of L-PRESS's broader mandate to strengthen livestock productivity while building community resilience.
