The Gombe State chapter of the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) has criticized the state government for failing to address the welfare of workers in state-owned tertiary institutions. The party stated that despite a 14-day ultimatum from the Joint Union of Gombe State Tertiary Institutions (JOUGTIN), the government did not act, leading to a strike. The PDP accused the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of neglecting workers' legitimate entitlements and disrupting students' education.
